Civil Justice, Inc. has launched the Foreclosure Brief Legal Advice Project, a new initiative offered in partnership with Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service. Homeowners facing foreclosure, who do not have legal representation, may obtain free, brief legal consultations with an attorney experienced with Maryland Foreclosure law.
The Foreclosure Brief Legal Advice Attorneys will answer questions about foreclosure mediation, provide legal advice regarding the homeowner’s foreclosure, and help homeowners understand any court papers and documents received in relation to the foreclosure.
Beginning January 4, 2016, Consultations are performed through a Helpline or in-person clinics. The phone number of the Helpline is 443-808-0076, and is open Mondays from 1:30pm - 6:00pm, and Wednesdays 8:00am - 12:30pm. The clinic is open the last Wednesday of each month from 3:00pm - 6:00pm at MVLS, 201 N. Charles Street, Ste. 1400, Baltimore, MD 21201. Particpants are encourage to register for the clinic by calling 410-547-6537, but pre-registration is not required. There are no income limitations, and attorneys will meet with any homeowner facing foreclosure who is not represented by an attorney.
